Ducks Unlimited is a conservation group that many of my friends and I belong to. Ducks Unlimited is an international organization dedicated to the preservation of wetlands. Florida, as you know, has one of the most famous wetlands in the world, the Florida Everglades, so it is natural, being a Floridian, to support Ducks Unlimited. What is unique about Ducks Unlimited is that it is a pro-hunter conservation group.
Since it’s founding in 1936, Ducks Unlimited, has helped protect or restore 13 million acres of habitat across North America since its founding in 1936. It is a very popular organization because of its restoration and preservation programs, and promotion of hunting. This brings together two groups that often do not see eye to eye.
Each year, Ducks Unlimited has auctions where they auction off items donated by individuals who want to contribute to the organization. A couple of years ago I contributed by donating a ring that was custom made. You can, of course, donate with cash, but donating an item for auction adds to the fun of the event. It is also an opportunity to put on display any special skills that you have, like jewelry making.
These auctions ware held in different places around the country each year and provide Ducks Unlimited with valuable contributions to it conservation efforts. To see what an auction is like you can go on YouTube and search using Ducks Unlimited Auction and you’ll find lots of links to auctions in different locations.
When I donated the ring for auction, I thought that it was a good way to contribute. I love to make jewelry and making something for Ducks Unlimited was another opportunity to do what I love to do: design jewelry.
