We talk a lot about custom jewelry design on our blog. That is what we do and that is what we love. Custom made jewelry can be for serious occasions like weddings or engagements, but it can also be for pure fun. The item pictured below is a custom pendant that we did for a client that loved the Renaissance. He wanted something that would commemorate his love for the Renaissance and be beautiful at the same time.
This piece really exemplifies that process that we use to product custom jewelry: working closely with clients to bring their ideas to a finished piece that they can cherish throughout their lives. What better way to show a part of your identity and love for life? When you work with an artist to produce a piece of jewelry, you can put a lot of your personality into the design. Instead of trying to match your vision with ready-made jewelry, you create it in a way that has been done by artisans for thousands of years.
We took weeks to work together to produce a design that was just right. The end result was an ax pendant about a half inch in diameter, made with sterling silver and 14 carat gold. You can’t see it in the pictures, but the loop for a the chain is on the back of the blade part of the pendant. This way, when the pendant is worn, the ax is at the top. Beautiful and bold.

The image show is from the CAD Design. Designing jewelry using CAD/CAM software allows for a fantastic amount of precision before the jewelry is created. It also allows customers to be actively involved in the design process. Once the design is completed, a wax mold is created and cast into the final piece.
